I tried limiting global connections, number of active torrents, port forwarding, etc and even different clients but none of them had an effect so I'm fairly convinced there's some bad blood between zonealarms (or firewalls in general) and BT. Fortunately I have a spare machine for downloads so disabling the firewall isn't a big deal but may not be wise for some. Now, this app is available for Windows PC users.

Hi, ever since i've been using retail W7 Ultimate 64 my system(s) keep(s) freezing when running a torrent-client (Tixati, Deluge, any uTorrent). The problem turned out to be zonealarms firewall so thought I'd post it here to let people know a possible solution since this post pops up on the top of google. It would become extremely non-responsive almost the instant it started downloading yet an OS process like firefox worked fine. Turned off automatic move of completed files, thinking maybe something weird was happening during the write (as it's moving from one folder to another on an external drive) but that didn't fix the issue. The downloads will run fine for a while, then the Deluge window will freeze (different points in the current download). So is there a solution, like maybe use the 32-bit version I am on Windows 10 64-bit and qbittorrent v3.3.10. Just started a couple of days ago - running the newest version of Deluge (v1.3.15). IMPORTANT The current release folder for these builds (the 'Deluge2 Unofficial Installer for Windows' Google Drive Folder) contains several older builds with older build logic and library versions just in case you would find it useful to go back. I am not even running a large of torrents: usually 5 or 6. A set of scripts to prepare prerequisites for and build Deluge Torrent 2.0.x on Windows 10. I was having the same problem with BT 'not responding' when downloading. The only thing I can do is end the process in Task Manager, which in turn refreshed the desktop and rearranges all the icons.
